About Me: A Journey of Flavors and Balance
The question, “What do we eat today?” used to follow me everywhere. Whether I was trying the latest diet or just planning meals, it was always on my mind. Sound familiar? That same question not only shaped my personal journey but also inspired me to create Flavors & Balance, a space for food that doesn’t taste like diet but still works like one.
I’m Elias, a passionate home cook who turned his kitchen experiments into a way of life. Six years ago, I hit a turning point. I weighed 103 kilograms, and though I loved food, I didn’t love how I felt. It wasn’t just about the weight—it was about the energy I lacked and the frustration I felt cycling through diets that never stuck.
That’s when I made a choice: no more fad diets, no more temporary fixes. Instead, I decided to transform my favorite recipes into meals that were as satisfying as they were slimming. I focused on flavor but balanced it with higher protein, lower carbs, and fats, achieving a high satiety score (we’ll talk more about satiety soon—I’m preparing a full article on it!).
And it worked. Over time, I shed 17 kilograms—and more importantly, I kept going. Along the way, my friends started noticing. They’d ask, “How do you do it?” or “What’s your secret?” Whenever I shared a recipe, they’d come back for more.
That’s when I realized I wanted to share this with more people. I wanted to show others that food isn’t the problem—it’s the solution. All you need is a little guidance and inspiration to turn your meals into something that fuels your life, not something you fear.
Flavors & Balance isn’t about crash diets or shortcuts. It’s about cooking flavorful, healthy, balanced meals that fit into your everyday life. It’s about finding joy in the process of nourishing yourself.
If you’ve ever started a diet on a Monday, the first of the month, or New Year’s Day, thinking “This time I’ve got this!”—you’re not alone. I’ve been there. And now, I’m here to help you make changes that last.
Through my blog, you’ll find recipes that are as delicious as they are healthy, practical tips for managing a busy life while eating well, and personal stories that remind you it’s okay to take this journey one step at a time.
